Dash Boat Launches

Driver Assisted Suction Harvester Boat - DASH BOAT LAUNCHES Oct 11 - In July, John and Christina Bertogli from Balch Pond Acres
donated their 24 ft Pontoon Boat to BLIMP to be updated into a state of the art DASH Boat.

With the leadership of our Vice President Nick Stadtfeld and BLIMP Member Dennis Racine, (who's land and garage we are using) the boat has been updated with new aluminum decking, housing for the steering console, and new hoses (100 ft in length and 6" in diameter) attached to a "vacuum cleaner" system that can suck the milfoil into the new steel basket located on the boat.

This is a great day for all of us because once this state of the art DASH boat get's going it will help eliminate the need to use chemicals possibly starting in 2012! My hat's off to George Oster, Roger Lepage, Bob Dezenzo for helping this process and to Michael Shea from Mobile Marine for helping with the steering and motor! AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE ALL OVER THE LAKE THAT HAVE DONATED THEIR TIME AND MONEY TO THE BLIMP CAUSE!
